General FAQs

Peninsula Health Partners is driven by the conviction that each child deserves the chance to reach their maximum potential while having fun! Our mission is focused on delivering top-notch compassionate behavior-analytic treatment to children and fostering a positive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment for our staff. The PHP difference seeks to blend the evidence-based efficacy of behavior analysis with the inherent sense of wonder, exploration, joy, and fun that defines childhood.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapeutic approach that systematically applies interventions to improve socially significant behaviors. In the context of our services, ABA is tailored to enhance various skills in individuals, particularly those with autism or related developmental disorders.
ABA works by breaking down complex behaviors into smaller components and implementing evidence-based strategies to teach or modify these behaviors. It focuses on reinforcement and data-driven decision-making to achieve positive outcomes.
Customizing programs for individual needs, the PHP program thoroughly covers vital developmental areas to nurture independence, interaction, and daily joy. Instructional targets encompass a range of domains, mirroring the typical progression of skills in standard development. Areas such as Verbal Behavior and Communication, Perspective-Taking, Executive Functioning, Play Skills, Social Skills, Safety Skills, Self-Help Skills, and Caregiver Education and Training are tailored to suit your child's unique requirements.
Peninsula Health Partners delivers behavior intervention services in diverse settings, encompassing homes, communities, and schools, working around your child’s schedule and availability.

Peninsula Health Partners is dedicated to involving only the most qualified and dedicated behavior analysts in developing and implementing personalized treatment programs. Our Clinical Directors, each holding master's or advanced degrees, are Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with extensive experience in addressing the needs of children with autism and other special requirements.

Candidates selected as Behavior Technicians to implement behavior intervention plans for children undergo extensive theoretical and applied training before delivering any services. After choosing the brightest and most enthusiastic candidates, PHP Behavior Technicians engage in a comprehensive training and evaluation period, leading to certification as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) by the BACB.

Session length can vary based on the individual's needs and goals. Generally, sessions may range from 1 to 3 hours, and the frequency may be adjusted to meet the client's requirements.
No way! At PHP, our clinicians collaborate with you to identify goals and treatment strategies based on your child's interests and your family's values. The fundamental principles of ABA offer flexibility in application, and there's nothing inherent in the science that restricts ABA services from being humanistic, considerate, playful, compassionate, or enjoyable—all while effectively imparting meaningful, real-life skills.
The timeline for results varies based on individual factors. Positive changes may be observed in a relatively short period, but the duration depends on the complexity of goals and the individual's progress.
